Our Story

When you're invited to tour The Arc Light, you'll be directed to the illuminated staircase on 7th Street. It's the entrance to our historic event venue—but it's only one chapter of the story.

Take a look around, and you'll discover that 604 & 602 7th Street are home to much more than weddings and celebrations. Together, these spaces have become a gathering place built around family, hospitality, and community.

The Door on the Left

Step through the door on the left and you'll find The Hive Social—the first chapter of this building's revival, opening in September 2020.

Here, you'll discover scratch-made, locally sourced food and beverages, warm hospitality, and, of course, our beloved aebleskivers. If you know, you know. If you don't... you'll just have to stop by and find out.

The Door on the Right

Across the hall is The Coffee Annex, our cozy café and boutique space.

Whether you're grabbing a cup of Sisters Coffee, searching for the perfect gift, or settling in with a good book or your laptop, it's a place designed to slow down and stay awhile. Every espresso drink and café favorite also serves guests throughout The Hive Social, making it the heart of our daytime hospitality.

The Secret Door in the Back

Hidden just beyond the restaurant is The Hardware Store.

Inspired by the Prohibition era, this intimate speakeasy transports you back to the 1920s with vintage charm, handcrafted cocktails, and an atmosphere that feels delightfully tucked away. The cocktails are so thoughtfully crafted, you might just think they're illegal.

A Family Business, Through and Through

Behind every space is one family.

A grandmother, mother, daughter, her husband, and the next generation of spirited little firecrackers all play a part in bringing this historic building to life each day. It's a true family business, built with heart, hard work, and a genuine love for welcoming people through the doors.

Over the past 4+ years, I can honestly say they've become family to me, too. That feeling of warmth and belonging is something we hope every guest experiences the moment they arrive.

Bringing It All Together

While many guests discover us through weddings and private events, this building was designed to be experienced.

Our elevator entrance, located through the Washington Street lobby, provides accessible access to every floor. Behind the scenes, three dedicated kitchen spaces support everything from restaurant service to our full-service, in-house catering through The Hive Catering Co., allowing our culinary team to thoughtfully prepare and serve celebrations throughout the building.

After wedding celebrations, we invite guests to continue the evening downstairs with late-night bites and handcrafted mocktails at The Hive Social. To help ensure everyone gets home safely after a day of celebrating, we do not continue alcohol service following wedding receptions.

Whether you're joining us for coffee, dinner, cocktails, or one of life's biggest celebrations, we hope you'll feel what makes this corner of historic Oregon City so special.

Welcome to our family.
